Questions
Which hospitals in Jammu & Srinagar are cashless for Oriental Insurance?
7 hospitals in Jammu & Srinagar appear on Oriental Insurance’s lists as collected on 30 September 2026, including 2 PPN hospitals.
How do I get cashless treatment with Oriental Insurance in Jammu & Srinagar?
Show your health card and photo ID at the hospital’s insurance desk. The hospital sends a pre-authorisation request to the insurer or TPA. For planned admissions, start this a few days ahead.
Can I get cashless treatment at a hospital that is not on the list?
Possibly. Under the General Insurance Council’s ‘Cashless Everywhere’ initiative, a registered hospital with at least 15 beds can offer cashless treatment if you inform the insurer 48 hours before a planned admission, or within 48 hours of an emergency admission, subject to the claim being admissible.
What is an excluded hospital?
A hospital an insurer has specifically excluded and disclosed on its website. That insurer does not pay claims for treatment there, except expenses up to stabilisation in a life-threatening emergency or after an accident (IRDAI standard exclusion Excl11). The exclusion applies only to the insurer that published it.
My claim was rejected. What can I do?
Ask the insurer for the rejection reason in writing, compare it with your policy wording, and file a written complaint with the insurer’s grievance cell. If that does not resolve it, you can approach the Insurance Ombudsman. We can review your papers and explain the options.
